Swordfish fishing
I specialize in daytime hand crank Swordfish fishing, the ultimate sportfishing rush!. We have electric reels we can use if requested, but we like to fish the old school way with the hand crank that makes it a lot more fun. You get to go in the standup harness and fish lighter weights, lighter lines, and you get to feel the power of the fish instead of the electric reel doing the work.
The average size swordfish we encounter is 50-200 pounds, but any given day you have a chance to catch a 500+ pounder. We are typically fishing 1600-1800 feet deep 15-20 miles offshore with a variety of cut bait rigs. Swordfish fishing trips are an all day thing, usually lasting 10-12 hours.
These trips are weather permitting due to the longer run offshore that they require. We can catch them year round!
Target Species
We can catch swordfish year round off Fort Lauderdale! We are blessed to have the shelf close to our local waters, these trips require a lot of patience but getting that bite is the ultimate rush. We target swordfish with the old school hand crank method, it makes it a lot more fun and memorable of an experience getting to battle with the fish.
Where We Fish
These trips are weather permitting. We are typically go fishing 1600-1800 feet deep in the crystal clear blue water 15-20 miles offshore, so foul weather days can prevent us from going out to the swordfish grounds. Once fishing, it is not typical run-and-gun fishing and we typically will do very long drifts waiting for that tick in the line, then it’s game on.

The Ultimate Fort Lauderdale Offshore Boat
28’ center console
The 28’ center console I use was custom restored with precision a few years ago, designed specifically for fishing in Southeast Florida. Its walkaround layout allows us to chase different bites efficiently while keeping charter costs lower than most other boats. It's truly the perfect vessel for our fishing adventures!
